Smart oven apps failing? My router reboot trick cuts call time in half.
Honestly, I've seen a big jump in service calls for smart ovens that won't link to phone apps. Tbh, at first I thought it was bad boards or software glitches. Ngl, I wasted a whole morning on one job before realizing the home Wi-Fi was the issue. Now, I start every smart appliance visit by having the homeowner restart their router. Just last week, three back-to-back calls were fixed with that alone. I carry a basic signal meter to check if the oven spot gets weak Wi-Fi. Showing customers the low bars helps them understand it's not a repair fault. This little step keeps my van moving and their bills down.

Well, that's a solid tip from @harper_singh about checking placement. But I have to push back a little on the idea of a "garbage" router. Most of the time, the router is just fine for normal use. The real problem is that smart appliances, especially ovens, have terrible little antennas. They're often tucked in a metal box against a wall. So even a good router signal might not reach them well enough to make a solid link. That's why the restart often works, it clears up the path for that weak connection to finally get through. The appliance is the weak link, not the home network.

Been there... had a customer's oven in a kitchen nook with brick on two sides. Router was fine, but the signal just couldn't get through all that. We ended up running a cheap Wi-Fi extender to an outlet near the breakfast bar, just to get a clear line of sight. Problem solved without touching the oven.
