That week I had 4 water heater calls with the exact same bad thermostat model

Pulled three 40-gallon Rheem units from 2019 and a fourth from a condo complex all with the same burnt contact, and the homeowner in unit 4 asked me if I think they cut corners on that batch, so has anyone else seen a pattern with a specific year of a brand?

Did you catch that podcast episode where a Rheem tech admitted they had a bad batch of thermostats around 2019? I remember hearing something about supplier issues causing those burnt contacts.

Hold up, I think that podcast was actually about a 2018 batch, not 2019. Pretty sure the year got mixed up somewhere, but yeah, same problem with the burnt contacts.
