Why does everyone skip the gasket seal test on refrigerator doors?

I've seen three posts this month where someone replaced a compressor or added refrigerant without checking the door gasket first, and I swear half my calls start with a bad seal. Has anyone else found a quicker way to test these without the dollar bill trick?

People skip it because they're chasing the flashy repair (you know, the one that lets them charge more) instead of the simple stuff. I read a study a while back that said nearly 30% of cooling issues in fridges come from a bad door seal, not the compressor. The dollar bill trick is fine but I've had better luck with a bright flashlight inside the fridge at night (shut the door and look for light leaks). That method catches warped or cracked seals way faster than a piece of paper ever will. Most of the time it's just a quick heat gun pass or a new gasket and you're done.

Ngl the flashlight trick works great but 30% sounds low for that study.
