A museum docent in Athens made me rethink how I see pottery shards

I was at the National Archaeological Museum last month and this older guy pointed out a plain handle fragment, said it was 'a handshake across 3,000 years' because someone's fingers wore the same grooves, and now I can't stop looking at broken pieces differently, has anyone else had a random stranger reframe an artifact for them?

My uncle dragged me to a tiny museum in northern Greece once, and there was this beat-up bronze mirror with a tiny scratch on the edge. He said it was probably from a woman checking her teeth, not her hair, and now I can't look at any old mirror without thinking about bad breath in ancient times. That docent in Athens sounds like my kind of person, those little human moments beat the big marble statues every time. I swear I've spent way too long staring at old shoe prints in plaster casts since then.
