I spent three years carefully brushing dirt off what I thought was a Roman floor mosaic, only to realize yesterday it was just a weirdly patterned concrete slab from the 1970s.

I mean, maybe it's just me but three years of learning patience and observation isn't a total loss. That kind of dedication teaches you something even if the payoff isn't what you expected. idk, sometimes the process is worth more than the result.

The real tragedy is you spent three years on it. At least a Roman mosaic would have been worth the effort.
