That ditch excavation near Boise took me 4 extra weeks because of buried utility lines
I was digging a drainage ditch for a client's backyard and hit a weird concrete patch about 2 feet down that didn't show on any map. Turns out it was an old irrigation line from the 1950s that someone just capped and buried without telling anyone. Has anyone else run into random buried stuff that wasn't on the survey records?

Oh man, that 'capped and buried without telling anyone' part hit home. I found an old septic tank that wasn't on any record when I was putting in a patio last summer, total nightmare.
