Why does nobody warn you about the guy who collects surface finds
I was at a local archaeology meetup in Tucson last month and this older guy showed me a box of arrowheads he pulled off a site without recording any location data, then told me he has around 300 more at home. He laughed when I asked where he picked them up and that still bugs me, because every one of those points is basically lost to science now. Has anyone else run into collectors like this, and is there a decent way to get them to start documenting stuff?
