Had a weird encounter with a shopkeeper in Savannah who refused to answer my question
I was down in Savannah last month for a weekend trip, and I stopped in this little antique shop off Broughton Street. I asked the guy at the counter where the best local spot for shrimp and grits was, figured he'd have a good tip. Instead he just stared at me for like 10 seconds and said 'you should ask the locals, not me.' Then he walked to the back and didn't come out. I stood there awkwardly for a bit and left. Still haven't found a good grits place, and honestly I'm curious if other people have had that kind of brush-off when asking for advice in a tourist town. Is that a thing in Savannah or did I catch him on a bad day?
