Just realized I paid $75 for a 'local' food tour that was just a chain restaurant crawl

Booked it online thinking it was a real insider's guide, but the guide just took us to three spots you could find in any airport. I mean, we didn't even go into the actual neighborhoods. Anyone know how to actually find the good stuff run by actual locals?

My cousin got tricked like that once, but with a "historic" pub crawl.

Remember that time I paid for a ghost tour that was just a guy reading Wikipedia.

Ugh that's the worst. I got burned on a similar thing last summer, paid big money for a "secret food spots" tour and it was basically a PR walking ad for some chain ramen place.
