My $400 vacuum repair guy in Tucson said the belt was fine, so I fixed it myself for $9
The local vacuum shop on Speedway quoted me $400 to replace the motor on my 6 year old upright, which is more than I paid for it at Costco. I watched a 12 minute video, pulled out a tangled sock from the hose, and it runs like new. Am I crazy for thinking most repair places just want to sell you a new machine instead of doing a 5 minute check?
