Overheard someone at the farmer's market say they only buy local honey for allergy relief

I was at the Saturday market in Asheville and this lady was telling her friend that raw local honey is the only thing that helps her seasonal allergies. She said she takes a spoonful every morning starting 6 weeks before spring. I've always just taken Zyrtec and never thought about it much. Does that really work or is it one of those placebo things? Has anyone here actually noticed a difference with local honey vs store bought?

Tried it last spring and my itchy eyes were way better than with regular honey.
