Paid $80 for a local food tour in Portland, got sick from the second stop
I figured a guided food tour would be worth it since I'm new to the area. First place was okay, some fancy donuts. But the second stop gave me a taco that tasted off, and I spent the rest of the day in my hotel bathroom. The guide just shrugged and said 'that's the risk with street carts.' Never again. Has anyone else had a bad experience with those overpriced neighborhood tours?

Call out the guide on social media with a photo of that taco, @mason_jackson. Those tours bank on tourists not knowing what's normal for the area versus what's just bad food. I guarantee the guide pushes people to certain carts because they get a kickback, and that taco place probably pays them a cut. $80 and they can't even refund you for the one stop that made you sick. That's not a risk, that's just bad business.

So the guide's response was basically "yeah that happens, hope you got travel insurance"? That's $80 well spent on a bathroom tour of Portland.
