Rant: That $60 'professional' garden pruner broke on my first apple branch

Bought a fancy pruner from a gardening site last week, first cut on a branch and the blade popped right off the handle. Anyone else get burned by overhyped gardening tools?

yeah that weak rivet thing is the issue. I had the same thing happen with a "premium" pruner. best fix is to drill out the rivet and put a small bolt and lock nut in there. costs like 50 cents and itll never pop off again.

Yeah I saw a video from some gardener on YouTube breaking down cheap pruners and that exact thing happened. The blade just pops off because they use a weak rivet instead of a proper bolt. You'd think for sixty bucks they'd at least make the handle and blade connect solid.
