That one waitress in Waco changed how I order breakfast
Every local thread swears by asking the cook what's good, but I kept getting burned with specials that were just leftovers. Last month I tried asking the waitress what she'd eat on her day off, and that got me the best migas plate I've had in 10 years. Anyone else find that the person carrying the plates knows way more than the guy standing at the grill?

Did you ask her what she'd order if she had to pay full price for it, or did you just go with whatever she was craving that day? Because I've found the difference between "what sounds good right now" and "what's actually worth the money" is huge when you're picking off the menu. The best tip I ever got was from a server who told me to skip the special and get the pancake combo, since they make the batter fresh every morning.
