The innkeeper in Bruges who refused to give me directions
Stood at his front desk for 10 minutes with my phone dead and a map I couldn't fold, and he just kept saying 'walk until it feels right' without looking up from his crossword... finally he pointed at the canal and told me to follow the swans. Two days later I realized he was actually steering me past every tourist trap and straight to the good spots, which was way more useful than any app. Has anyone else had a local who helped by pretending not to help?
