The trick that finally got my gutters draining right was a $6 sprinkler timer

Problem was water pooling by the downspout every rain, tried extenders and burying pipe but nothing worked, then I set a cheap timer to run a hose for 10 minutes twice a day and it carved a perfect drainage channel through the mud in under 2 weeks - has anyone else used water itself to fix a grading issue?
