Update on that washing machine that flooded my garage floor

Had a washing machine hose burst on me last Tuesday night. Water spread across my whole garage before I caught it around 2am. Spent Wednesday pulling everything out to dry and mopping up about 40 gallons of water. Ended up buying a new set of braided steel hoses for $25 and installed them that evening. Anyone else switched to those steel hoses after a flood scare?

and honestly that's kind of how life works right? you don't think about things like water hoses until they break and then suddenly you're looking at your whole garage differently. it's like how nobody checks their smoke detector batteries until 3am when the thing starts chirping.

Man I had a buddy who ignored a weird smell in his basement for like two weeks. Kept saying it was just the cat or some old paint. Then one day he went down there and the whole wall was soft and crumbly. Turns out a pipe had been slowly leaking behind the drywall for who knows how long. He had to tear out half the basement and it cost him like four grand. Now he checks every little drip like his life depends on it.
