Back in 2019 I was just pointing my phone at the moon, now I finally got a decent shot of the Orion Nebula with my new tracker

Man, that reminds me of my first time trying to see Saturn's rings. Borrowed a buddy's old telescope from his garage. Spent a whole night just trying to find the thing in the eyepiece. Felt like a huge win when I finally got it, even though the view was shaky and tiny. Makes you appreciate the skill it takes to get those clean tracked photos for sure.

Wow, that's a huge jump... but honestly, I don't see it as a straight line. Pointing a phone at the moon is just a snapshot, a quick moment. Getting a tracked deep sky shot is a whole different hobby. It's planning, gear, and hours of work. That's like comparing a grocery store cake to baking one from scratch. Both are fine, but they're not the same journey at all.
