I was reading an old astronomy magazine and found out the Hubble took over 1.4 million photos.

I was cleaning out my garage in Portland last weekend and found a stack of 'Sky & Telescope' issues from the 90s. One article mentioned the Hubble Space Telescope had taken over 1.4 million observations, which just blew my mind thinking about all that raw data. What's the most surprising space photo fact you've ever come across?

That Hubble print must look amazing in person. @the_hugo, your buddy has good taste. It reminds me of when I saw a giant print of the Pillars of Creation at a science museum once. It was so big you could just stand there and get lost in all the tiny details (like the little knots of gas and dust). It made the whole universe feel strangely close and impossibly far away at the same time, you know? Those images really stick with you.
