My planetary photo sparked an unexpected conversation with the mail carrier
I managed to snap a clear picture of Venus and the Moon aligning. The mail carrier noticed my telescope and asked about it. I shared the image on my phone, and he got really interested. He told me his daughter is learning about the solar system in school. It felt great to make that connection through a simple photo.

Nice moment. So did you end up showing him how to spot Venus himself? That's the coolest part about sharing this stuff. A lot of people think you need crazy gear, but you can see planets from a porch with your own eyes once you know where to look. His daughter would probably love trying to find Jupiter's moons with just binoculars. Those little connections are what make the hobby worth it.

Yeah, I did show him. I just pulled up a free sky map app on my phone and pointed out where to look west after sunset. He was shocked it was that easy. Next time I saw him, he'd already shown his wife.
