Question about my deep sky object count after sorting my photo library
I just realized I've taken exactly 47 photos of the Orion Nebula over the last three years, which seems like a lot for one target.

Forty-seven shots of Orion is totally normal in my book. I find I do the same thing with my favorite hiking trail, taking the same photo of a specific bend in the river every single visit. It's like we're trying to capture a tiny change in something familiar, or maybe just proving to ourselves it's still there.

Honestly my camera roll is just hundreds of the same sunset over my apartment's fire escape. I keep telling myself I'll notice a difference in the clouds or the light, but really it's just the same blurry phone pic. I guess it's less about art and more about marking time, you know? Like a weird visual diary where every entry is basically the same.
