Question about stacking photos from my phone for the first time

I used a cheap tripod and 30 second exposures with my old Pixel 6 last night, then ran the files through DeepSkyStacker. The final image showed way more of the Orion Nebula than I ever saw through my binoculars. Has anyone else gotten decent results without a proper telescope?

That's actually a solid result for a phone. My experience with phone sensors is they get noisy fast in low light, even stacked. The small lenses just don't gather enough light compared to a real camera lens or scope. You're seeing the nebula's core, but a lot of the faint outer gas gets lost.

Phones have come a long way, but physics still wins.
