That guy who said not to stack photos at full moon, he was right
Someone in last week's thread warned me my moon shots would blow out if I stacked 50 frames during a full moon. Tried it anyway from my backyard in Austin and got nothing but a white blob with weird purple edges. Has anyone else run into this or is my processing just off?

The purple edges are actually your lens struggling with chromatic aberration, not a stacking problem. A full moon is super bright and harsh, so even a few frames can clip the highlights to pure white. Stacking 50 frames multiples that blown-out data instead of fixing it. Drop your exposure way down, like 1/500th or faster, and try 10 frames max next time. You can also back off the saturation in processing, that purple fringe gets worse when you push color. Your backyard setup is probably fine, just gotta match the settings to how intense that moonlight actually is.
