Wasted $200 on a phone lens kit that was just cheap plastic
Bought a set of clip-on phone lenses for astrophotography last year and the images came out so blurry I could barely make out the moon, let alone any stars. Has anyone actually found a phone lens that works for night sky shots without breaking the bank?

Had the same problem with those cheap clip-on kits. The glass quality is just too poor for anything serious. For astrophotography specifically, you really need a lens that has actual multi-coated glass elements and a proper mounting system that keeps everything perfectly lined up. I found that the Moment brand lenses work pretty well for moon shots, but even those have limits with stars since phone sensors just aren't great at gathering enough light. Your best bet without spending a lot is to get a cheap phone tripod and use your phone's manual mode with a longer exposure time. That will give you cleaner shots than any budget lens attachment. The stock camera lens usually performs better than those add-ons once you learn how to tweak the settings right.
