Chose a cheap stud welder over the $800 brand and it actually worked out okay
Had a dent on a 2018 F-150 rear quarter panel last week and debated between a $200 Amazon puller and the fancy Dentcraft kit my buddy swears by. I went with the cheap one and spent 2 hours on a 4 inch crease near the taillight. Pulled it smooth enough for filler after some practice pulls. Anyone else try the budget welders or am I just lucky?

Bet it's like most cheap tools where you get one that works or one that doesn't. It's ALWAYS a gamble buying budget stuff online, kind of like ordering clothes from a random website.

That cheap Amazon kit is hit or miss man. My buddy used one on his Tacoma and it actually held up fine for a door ding, but then the tip snapped off halfway through a bigger repair. He said it was a pain to get refunded too.
