Debate: insurance shop vs independent, which one really cares about the final product?

Had a situation last Tuesday in Denver where a customer came in with a hit on their rear quarter that the insurance estimate said was a repair. I looked at it and the metal was creased too deep, needed a cut and replace. My manager wanted to push the repair to hit the cycle time bonus, said the customer would never notice. I held my ground and told the adjuster to come look again, got the replacement approved after 2 hours of back and forth. Customer was happy but my manager was salty for the rest of the week. So heres the question: do you work at a shop that fights for the right call even if it costs time, or do you work at a place that just follows the sheet and moves on? Which side has it right in this trade? Has anyone else had this exact argument with their own boss?

Heard a podcast say adjusters respect shops that push back, so good on you.
