Debate: Should we always tell customers the truth about frame damage?

I was at a shop in Houston last month and saw a guy hide a bent frame rail on a 2018 F-150. He said the customer would never notice and it saved a $3k repair. Do we owe it to them to be straight up even if it costs us the job?

Wow really? I mean is a bent frame rail that big of a deal on a truck that's already been driven. These things get banged up off road all the time and nobody bats an eye. I get that frame damage is technically serious but sometimes it's just cosmetic and the customer doesn't need to freak out over nothing. Plus if the guy saved them 3 grand that's a win in my book. People act like every little dent is the end of the world but most drivers never even look under their truck anyway.

Ngl, have you actually looked at what a bent frame rail does to the alignment of everything else underneath? Even if it drives fine for a while, it can throw off steering geometry and wear out tires way faster than you'd think.
