Discovered my paint gun was clogged with dried hardener the hard way
Last Tuesday I was spraying a 2018 Honda Accord hood and the finish came out looking like sandpaper. Could not figure out what was wrong until I tore down my Iwata LPH400 and found a tiny piece of dried hardener blocking the fluid nozzle. Cost me an extra 2 hours of work and had to redo the whole panel. Has anyone else had this issue with leftover hardener hardening up inside the gun passages?

Three out of four times I've had a gun issue it was because I skipped the final flush and paid for it the next job. It's funny how skipping five minutes of cleanup always costs you two hours later.

The "skipping five minutes of cleanup always costs you two hours later" part really hit home. @spencer199 I've seen the same thing with people who rush the final steps on their gear and then wonder why it fails at the worst time. I swear there's something psychological about that last check too - the moment we decide it's good enough is usually when we're about to miss something obvious. It's like our brains check out before the job is actually done.
