Finally stopped fighting my DA sander and started using two hands

For years I ran my DA sander one-handed, just like I saw everyone do in videos. I figured the weight of the tool was enough and the pad would stay flat. Then I kept burning through edges on a 2018 F-150 hood in Tulsa and could not figure out why my feathering looked like crap. A guy from the NextDoor repair group watched me work one afternoon and said, 'you are tilting it without knowing it.' He made me grip the top with my off hand and put two fingers on the body line. Took me about 20 minutes to get used to it, but my cut rate went down and the scratches evened out. I still catch myself slipping into the old habit, but now I set the sander down when I forget. Has anyone else had better luck with a two-handed grip on a DA, or is this just a me problem?
