Had a 2019 Silverado in the bay for 6 days that should've been a 2 day job
Customer rear-ended someone and pushed the right frame horn back about 3/4 of an inch, so I had it on the rack in the evening when the shop was quiet. Pulled it fine, but then the insurance adjuster showed up twice and cut my hours to 11 total on the ticket, which is less than the book time for the job. Anybody else getting squeezed on frame pulls where the adjuster keeps coming back to re-write the estimate mid-job?
Used to figure adjusters were just doing their job and we should work with whatever number they land on. Then I got tired of eating hours on jobs where they kept coming back and re-cutting the estimate while the car sat on my rack. Last one they knocked 4 hours off a pull after the second visit, and I ended up making less than oil change money for two days of work. Now I take pictures of everything before I touch it and write down every time they show up, because the math isn't gonna fix itself. If they keep chopping the hours mid-job, that's their problem, not mine.
