My frame machine's main hydraulic line blew out during a pull on a 2018 F-150
It happened Wednesday afternoon, right as I was getting the last few millimeters of correction on a rear rail. The line was only about 18 months old, a replacement part from a major supplier. Everyone says to always buy the brand-name hydraulic lines, but this one failed way faster than the cheap generic one it replaced. I had to shut down the job, clean up about two quarts of fluid off the floor, and wait two days for a new line to come in. Has anyone else had a premium part fail like that, or am I just the unlucky one?

Saw a thread on another forum about counterfeit parts in the supply chain, even from big name suppliers. Could have been a fake that just looked legit. What brand was the line?

My buddy got burned by fake brake lines that looked just like the real deal.

That whole situation sounds frustrating... but it's part of a bigger pattern where even the "good" brands aren't what they used to be. @gavine41 mentioned the fake brake lines thing, and I think it's the same deal across everything now - from tools to parts, you never know if you're getting the real thing or a copycat. Trusting a name on the box just isn't enough anymore, you gotta look close at every little detail.
