Rant: 3 years of doing paintless dent repair and I miss the old days of bondo and filler

Last month I had a guy bring in a 2018 F-150 with a dent the size of my fist on the door. Three years ago I would have just mixed up some filler, sanded it down, and had it painted in a day. But now everyone wants PDR to keep the original paint. I spent 4 hours on that door with my tools and still couldn't get it perfect. The customer was happy but I felt like I was fighting the metal the whole time. Anyone else tired of how much the trade has shifted away from traditional body work?

2018 F-150 factory paint is actually thinner than a soda can, so PDR's the only real option if you don't want to burn through it trying to sand and blend.

Did your buddy end up having to repaint his whole door after the PDR guy left a little dimple?
