That Tuesday when 3 cars got keyed in our lot and I was the only one there
Some guy walked through our back lot on Tuesday around 2pm and keyed a brand new Civic, a 2018 F-150, and a Corolla we'd just cleared for pickup, all while I was the only guy in the bay sanding a quarter panel. We've got no camera back there and the gate sticks so it never latches right, so I spent the whole afternoon matching paint and eating the cost on two of them since the owners hadn't signed off yet. Has anyone set up a cheap camera or gate latch that actually keeps people out without spending a grand?
Three years ago I'd have told you cameras are a waste and just fix the gate, but after a guy walked off with $400 in tools from my own shop I changed my tune. A $60 wifi cam and a $30 magnetic latch fixed more than the $500 lock I'd been babying for years.
