TIL a 2008 Honda Civic quarter panel can fight back

I was pulling a dent on a Civic last week and the metal just kept springing back, no matter how much heat I used... my boss walked over and said 'you're fighting the wrong spot, the tension's in the wheel arch.' He showed me the right place to push and it popped right out. How do you guys find those hidden tension points on older unibody cars?

Man, that's a classic. Did your boss explain HOW he knew it was the wheel arch? Like, was it a specific crease he looked for, or just years of seeing the same Civic dent over and over?

My old shop foreman could spot a Ford Ranger bed dent from 50 feet. He said the tailgate always gets a ripple right above the latch from people leaning on it. After a while you just see the pattern, like a fingerprint. He called it "Tuesday morning work" because we'd get two or three every single week.
