Vent: got a rusty '92 F-150 bedside looking factory in one shift after fighting it for a week
Customer brought in a '92 F-150 with a bedside that had rust pits deep enough to catch a fingernail, and I figured it was a two day job at best. Monday I stripped it, hit the pitting with a DA and 80 grit, and laid down two coats of epoxy primer, but I still wasn't happy with the texture after blocking it out. Wednesday I tried a skim coat of glaze over just the pits and feathered it with a 6 inch block instead of my usual board, and after wet sanding with 600 the whole panel came out dead flat. What's your go to for filling deep pits without the repair showing up six months later?
