Went to a paint supply shop in Pittsburgh yesterday and the mixing was just sad

I walked into this place near the Strip District to grab some basecoat and watched the guy behind the counter eyeball the tinting. He didn't even shake the cans right and the color came out streaky. I mean, maybe it's just me but if you're running a pro shop you gotta at least follow the basic steps. Has anyone else dealt with a supplier that just doesn't care about quality?

Used to think it didn't matter much who mixed your paint but after seeing a slop job like that, nah. Totally changed my mind, proper technique is everything.

Yeah totally agree with you there. What finally clicked for me was switching to a different brand of paint and learning their specific mixing guidelines. I used to just dump in whatever and hope for the best, but once I started following the exact ratios and stirring times, the color came out even every single batch. Also made a huge difference to let the paint sit for 5 minutes after mixing before using it on the wall. That little step alone cut down on a lot of the streaky mess I was getting before. It's annoying at first but once you get the hang of it, you can just feel when it's right.
