Why does nobody talk about the difference a proper feathering block makes on filler?

I switched from a cheap plastic block to a decent Durablock last week and the sanding lines on my last quarter panel job just disappeared. Anyone else find a simple tool upgrade that fixed a constant headache?

So which Durablock did you get? I've been looking at them but there's like five different shapes.

I got the 6-inch curved one, @robin_foster1, it's the most useful for general sanding.
