A customer in Boise told me my 'diagnostic fee' felt like a penalty for their old car.

I dropped the fee for pre-1995 vehicles and just charge a flat hour now, which honestly gets me more of those jobs and builds way better trust with those owners.

My uncle's '92 pickup got taxed so high he just sold it for scrap.
