Changed my mind about using impact guns on lug nuts after a customer laid into me

Honestly, I used to just zippy-zap lug nuts on with my impact gun every time. Then one day this older guy in a lifted F-250 watched me do it and said, 'You're gonna warp my rotors doing that, kiddo.' I thought he was just being a know-it-all until I looked it up later. Did some research and found out over-torquing can actually stretch the studs too. Now I hand-start every lug nut and use a torque stick set to 100 ft-lbs, even on quick tire rotations. Took me about a week to get used to the extra time but I haven't had a single comeback for vibrations since. Has anyone else had a customer call them out and turn out to be right?

Wait, you were just zapping them on with an impact and never had issues? That's wild. I'm kinda shocked you were doing that for so long without any problems.

Never had issues" lmao my wallet's been having issues with all those warped rotors I probably caused.
