Digital torque adapters vs the old beam wrench, numbers surprised me
I ran a comparison last Tuesday on a fleet truck, checking a digital torque adapter against my trusty beam style for 30 lug nuts. The cheap 60 dollar adapter read within 2 foot pounds of the beam every single time, way closer than I figured for that price. Anyone else trust digital adapters for final torque on customer vehicles, or do you stick with click type wrenches?

Had the same thing happen with my old Proto beam and a Harbor Freight adapter, dead nuts within 1 ft lb across two dozen bolts. Still use the beam for final pass on anything safety related, but the digital unit gets grabbed for the quick stuff now.
