Helped a younger tech fix a 2003 F-150 starter last Tuesday
A kid from the shop next door came over asking for help with a truck that wouldn't crank. He was about to throw a new starter at it without checking anything else. I showed him how to test the ground cable first, and sure enough the connection at the frame was rusted clean through. Saved him 120 bucks and an hour of swearing. Anybody else notice younger guys skip the basics and just start swapping parts?
