I finally picked a timing chain kit over a belt on that Ford 5.4 in Fairbanks

Went with the cloyes kit after a buddy said his melted a belt in stop-and-go traffic last July, and so far no stretch at 20,000 miles has anyone else had issues with the cheap kits from RockAuto?

Hold up, @lee.lucas has a point about Cloyes being overkill for 20k, but honestly a melted belt in Fairbanks traffic sounds like a dealbreaker no matter what you paid. Don't see the harm in skipping the headache with a solid kit even if it's more than you need.
