That one customer who taught me about belt tension...
I was working on a 2002 Civic in Des Moines last spring and this older guy came by asking if I could just "tighten the alternator belt a few turns." He watched me for a minute then politely said I was doing it all wrong and showed me his trick with a pry bar and a specific spot on the bracket. It saved me about 20 minutes on the job, so has anyone else gotten a solid tip from a random stranger at the shop?

Old timer showed me the same trick on my Chevy, never going back to guessing the tension.
