TIL bleeding brakes by myself with a pressure bleeder beats the old pump-and-hold method I used for 10 years
After fighting a spongy pedal on my 2003 F-150 for three Saturdays in a row, I finally tried a $40 Motiv pressure bleeder and got a firm pedal in 20 minutes flat - has anyone else found a tool that made them rethink their whole approach to a basic job?

Man that spongy pedal struggle is the worst. I had a similar thing with my old Tacoma where I could pump it up for days and it still felt like stepping on a marshmallow. The pressure bleeder is a total game changer though, once you see that steady stream of fluid with no bubbles you realize you wasted years cussing at a helper who can't hear you yell "hold it" from under the truck. For anyone still doing the pump and hold method, try cracking the bleeder just a tiny bit on the first caliper and letting gravity do its thing for a few minutes before you even hook up the pressure bleeder, it saves you from fighting the initial air pocket.

Oh man, I saw this video where a guy tested like 5 different bleeding methods on the same car and the pressure bleeder was the only one that gave him a perfectly firm pedal every single time. Makes you wonder why we all put up with the old way for so long, right?
