TIL the hard way that serpentine belts don't always line up right
Had a 2012 Ford Focus that was squealing like a stuck pig. Thought it was just a worn belt so I swapped it in 20 minutes. Started the engine and the squeal got worse. Took me another 2 hours to figure out the tensioner pulley had a wobble in it. Swapped that out and it ran quiet. Has anyone else burned time on a simple belt job because of a hidden bad pulley?

Seth, I gotta be honest here, a squealing belt is annoying but it's not that serious. You found the bad pulley and swapped it, so the job ended up taking a couple hours instead of twenty minutes. That's just part of owning a car, not some life changing lesson.
