Took me 4 hours to find a vacuum leak on a 2012 Ford Focus

I was chasing a rough idle on this Focus at my shop in Austin and it just would not smooth out. Sprayed carb cleaner everywhere, checked all the usual suspects, nothing. Turns out it was a tiny crack in the PCV hose right where it connects to the intake manifold, hidden under a rubber boot. Has anyone else dealt with hidden vacuum leaks that took way longer than you'd expect?

my buddy spent a whole weekend chasing a leak that was just a loose hose clamp nobody checked.

Classic. Always the simple stuff that eats up your time. Nobody ever wants to check the basics first. Then you spend days tearing your hair out for nothing. A quick look at the clamps would have saved him a whole weekend.
