Cancelled the extended plan on my 2019 Silverado after the dealer quoted me $1,850 for a repair they said was covered
Used to just hand over my card at the finance office and add whatever warranty they pushed, because I figured a truck that costs that much needs the peace of mind. Now I read the exclusions page first and call two shops for quotes before I sign anything. Anyone got a plain-English way to spot the plans that actually pay out?
My brother went through the same thing with his 2020 F-150 and the repair was $2,400 out of pocket even with the plan. What got him was the part about "wear items" being excluded, and somehow a cracked manifold counted as normal wear. When you read the exclusions page now, are you looking for specific wordings like "gradual breakdown" or just counting how many parts get listed as not covered?
