Found out the average new car warranty claim runs $3,800, and mine only covers $1,500 of it
So I was reading the paperwork on my truck's extended plan last night and spotted a line I'd never really looked at. My max payout per claim is $1,500, but the average repair bill for a major covered part these days runs around $3,800 according to a pricing sheet the dealer handed me in Springdale. That means on a big one I'm eating $2,300 out of pocket no matter how good the plan sounds. I called the warranty company and the rep basically said that cap number is standard on the mid tier plans. Now I'm wondering if the higher tier would've been worth the extra $22 a month back when I signed. Anyone here actually read their per claim limit before buying, or is it just me finding this out late?
