Appreciation post: how test equipment has changed over 15 years
Three years ago I was still using a 20 year old multimeter from my old shop, last week I finally upgraded to a digital oscilloscope that fits in my pocket. The old stuff taught me the basics, but this new gear catches tiny signal drops way faster on the bench. Anyone else feel like modern tools make you less cautious about wiring checks?

Four years in a shop with a Fluke 87 that weighed as much as a brick, then last month I grabbed one of those little $30 component testers from Amazon that identifies transistors in five seconds. Kind of makes you wonder if we were just gloriously lazy or the old stuff actually forced us to double check every connection by hand.

Ngl that cheap tester has saved me from chasing phantom shorts more times than I care to count.
