Hot take: wiring a Garmin G5 in a cramped 172 panel beats a glass cockpit any day, and I'll die on that hill
Spent last Wednesday in a hangar in Wichita wrestling a G5 into a 1968 Skyhawk with about 2 inches of clearance, and the moment that little display lit up at 28 volts I felt more satisfied than any G1000 install I've done. Glass panels are nice, but there's something about a simple attitude indicator swap that makes the whole job feel honest, you know... anyone else prefer the old school approach over full glass?
